Honestly the implementation of motion controls in DKCR is brilliant and waggle to roll may well be more responsive than a button press once mastered. Waggle to roll was a huge turnoff for me initially (I first played Trop Freeze to 200% on Switch and was pretty miffed I’d have to partially re-learn my feel for the base character movement) but it took me only an hour or so to get a proper feel for the Wii controls. i.e., where you develop the deeper appreciation for the design & conceptual vision of the game, where basic enjoyment flowers into passion. I think it will depend on the person which version they prefer but I don't think 3DS is inferior on paper nor does it blow the wii version away.Įven if they built the 3DS version “from the ground up” (implying a remake of sorts) spiritually it is an enhanced port of the original Wii game, and it feels that way as well when comparing the two versions side by side -my (extensive) experience on Wii translated pretty directly into the 3DS version, the only significant differences are the obvious ones (plus the eight bonus levels in 3DS).ģDS version is inferior mainly because it runs at 30fps vs 60fps on Wii, in general I’m no frame rate snob but 60fps matters for the more intense platforming of the later game, Mirror Mode, Time Attack, etc.
DONKEY KONG 3 PC PORT PLUS
3DS lacks some horsepower iirc but it playing on a smaller, lower res screen, plus utilising 3D and some new gpu tech. From Mario to Pokmon, there's no shortage of iconic franchises for fans to enjoy from various genres. The Nintendo brand has been a cornerstone of gaming for decades. Its a version of DKC Returns that runs on 3DS offering stereoscopic 3D visuals, local wireless multiplayer, and a ninth world to unlock.Ĭontrols - 3DS has just buttons used I think, whereas the Wii used buttons and motion, many disliked the latter. Nintendo is known for keeping its IP close to its chest, but the growth of PC gaming makes now the perfect time to start porting its exclusives. Doesn't really matter much, the end result does. The original Donkey Kong Country Returns game has been rebuilt from the ground up for ease-of-play on Nintendo 3DS, and features local wireless multiplayer* to share the excitement with your friends, plus an un-lockable ninth world with new collectible items and eight exciting new levels! Nintendo says it was built from the ground up I don't think this can be answered with poll options.
